Mark C. says you can’t go wrong with this place.

“I don’t know what more I can add aside from the very positive reviews that have already been posted. But I will say that after a long day of travel from the East Coast of the United States, and then a relatively long drive from the Kona Airport to Volcano, we couldn’t have been happier with what awaited us at Chalet Kilauea. Just a really nice place, with huge rooms that are decorated in a lovely way. Very clean, and for us, as travelers that were spending just one night in Volcano before heading back to Kona to spend a week at Hilton Waikoloa Village, it was perfect. Thank you.”

Linda V. thinks we’ve got a great hotel!

“This place is wonderful. Great rooms and great customer service! They truly cared to make sure you have a great time while staying with them. We are already looking forward to staying there again the next time we visit the Big Island.”

These honeymooners had an excellent stay.

“This was our first stop on our honeymoon trip to Hawaii. The room was spacious, clean and we absolutely loved the style. You didn’t have AC, but you don’t need it. It isn’t too hot. As Kilauea is very active, we had to get used to the earthquakes, but we were well-informed once we checked in.”

Hannah F.’s stay was absolutely perfect.

“We loved the comfort, space, the walk-in showerX2, heater/cooler (never seen so many electrical useful supplies), the colourful atmospheric fireplace and all the extras that made our stay so very beautiful, comfortable and always memorable.

The place is very quiet, which is so important to us, we had a huge room with a view to the ponds with beautiful golden fish and we didn’t want to leave anymore.

Even the huge kingsize bed was so very comfortable that we didn’t want to get up in the morning.

They have a Jacuzzi 24/7 and a Thai Tuktuk Truck nearby with very yummy food.

I can highly recommend this place (much better that Lokahi Lodge) and we will be back for sure. Mahalo”

Dominic D. felt welcomed to the jungle.

“Wow, now THAT was a jungle experience! After days in rushy Waikiki, Chalet Kilauea was calming us down reeeally quick. You live in between a forest with wildlife and jungle sounds. Very cool accommodation either, furnished in jungle style that made us immediately feel comfortable. Although staying here right besides Kilauea during his May 2018 eruption, we did not notice any impact on daily life except from Volcano village being much less crowded.”

Carrons had an exotic, eclectic and fun stay.

“We got to stay in what is essentially a treehouse, in the jungle, with an active volcano rumbling around us. What’s not fun about that?

I can’t remember our room number, but it was big and beautiful. Very clean and well decorated with unique touches. I had some work to do during our visit and the desk in the room was set up at a picture window that overlooked the gardens and the koi pond. Such a pleasant place to do a little work. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was gorgeous. We loved the dual rain water spouts.

The guy at the desk was super friendly and helpful with tips of how to spend our time since Volcanoes National Park was closed due to the eruption. As a bonus, the house-made blend of complimentary Kona coffee was delicious. I loved it so much that I bought some to take home. Never had anything like it.”
