Hapuna Beach is one of Hawaii Island’s few white sand beaches located on the West side of the island. Hapuna beach is a favorite among travelers and locals. The beach also houses a large park area, perfect for picnics and fun activities with the family.
Getting Here:
From Volcano Village, Take HWY 11 North or South (the time required will be about the same: 2.5-3 hours). Travel on HWY 11 until it changes to HWY 19 and head for Waikoloa. In the Waikoloa area, look for Hapuna Beach Road near the Hapuna and Mauna Kea Golf Courses. Turn onto Hapuna Beach Road. Take Hapuna Beach Road to Hapuna Beach State Park. There should be ample parking and a short walk to the beach area. Enjoy a great day in the sun at the beach!
