Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii

The `Imiloa Astronomy Center is a must see! Learn about the observatories on top of Mauna Kea without making the more than 13,000 foot journey. View a planetarium show, learn about the origins of the universe, understand the native Hawaiian culture better, stroll through gardens of native plants – all at comfortable sea level.

Getting Here:
The center is located at the University of Hawaii Hilo Science & Technology Park 600 `Imiloa Place, off Komohana and Nowelo Streets; five minutes from downtown Hilo. From downtown Hilo, take Waianuenue Avenue to Komohana, turn left onto Komohana, left onto Nowelo street.

Open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas)
